“Opportunity is the touchstone of our country and our freedom. However, globalization is challenging our nation. Although it creates wealth, globalization also creates income disparity and widening economic gaps. For our democracy to function, everyone needs opportunity. Education creates opportunities and ensures that all Americans can compete in a global economy. We must improve the educational opportunities available to the students who need them most – those in large, urban districts.”
